The Dubai Health Insurance Law (Law No. 11 of 2013) has slowly been phased in over the last couple of years, with the final phase, covering companies will less than 100 employees, spouses, dependents and domestic workers due to be in force from 30 June 2016. The Dubai Health Authority recently announced that a grace period of six months will apply to individual sponsors, spouses, dependents and domestic workers falling under this final phase, requiring such individuals to now be compliant with the health insurance requirements under the law by 31 December 2016.
