The trade union, NUMSA, has expressed its unhappiness with the proposed national minimum wage of ZAR3500.00, stating that it would consider renewed strike action if the current proposals were adopted. The trade union has labeled the proposed national minimum wage “super-exploitative” and has advised employers to brace for rolling mass action in protest of the proposals.
