Yes. That said, whether an employee who uses the internet/ social media during work hours may be disciplined or terminated will depend on the circumstance, including how strict the employer had implemented its policy, how often the employee used the internet/ social media (procrastinated), and how long the employee had been bound to work (length of work hours).
2. Employee’s use of social media to disparage the employer or divulge confidential information
Same restrictions apply as disparagement/divulging confidential information using other means.
