The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development has revised the Saudisation requirements under the Nitaqat program for companies operating in communications and information technology, and more specifically in:
- operation and maintenance of information technology;
- operation and maintenance of communications;
- infrastructure for information technology and infrastructure for communications, IT solutions, telecom solutions, and mail activities.
Specific quotas apply in each of these three sub-categories. An annexure was also issued, which specifies the licence activities under each of the three sub-categories. The Saudisation level under each sub-category depends on the company’s category, looking at the size of the company, number of employees and classification. As such, companies need to check which category they fall under to ensure compliance with the new requirement.
