Government Decision No. 520/2016, that transposes European Directive 2013/35/EU on the minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents (electromagnetic fields) into the Romanian legislation was enforced this July. The new normative act will ensure better protection against occupational exposure to electromagnetic fields for employees. The normative act also establishes a series of obligations, requiring employers to assess, control and limit the levels of exposure and offer effective measures of protection for their employees.
