The legislative note that accompanies the project states that it is imperative for the national legislation to regulate undeclared employment more strictly and to acknowledge the existence of partially undeclared employment. For the first time the Labor Code will include a definition for the undeclared employment. Also among the new provisions that are to be introduced if the project is voted for, is the possibility for the Territorial Labor Inspectorates to control and sanction any acts of undeclared employment, even partial undeclared unemployment such as disguising a full time employment contract as a part time employment contract. An important provision that is part of the project is the fact that not registering the employment contract in the electronic registry at least one day prior to the commencement of the employment is to be considered as undeclared employment. Any interested party can express opinion and send suggestions on the project until July 24th and if it is called for a public debate might be held to discuss the suggestions.
