Under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 (“Act”), every organisation employing 10 (ten) or more employees, is under an obligation to constitute an ICC for redressal of sexual harassment complaints.
The Circular makes it mandatory for all government and non-government organisations in the state of Telangana, employing 10 (ten) or more employees to register their ICCs through the e-portal called ‘Sexual Harassment Electronic Box (“T-She Box’’) by 15 July 2019, failing which such organisations will have to pay a fine of INR 50,000 (Indian Rupees Fifty Thousand). The T-She Box is a positive step taken by the Government of Telangana to further curb instances of sexual harassment in the workplace. The T-She Box also has a provision for working women to directly file complaints of sexual harassment. The T-She Box provides general information about the different provisions of the Act as well.
