1. Brief Description of Employees and Employers Organizations
Pursuant to the provisions of Trade Unions and Collective Labour Agreement Code, trade union shall have power to represent the employees at that workplace if at least three percent of the employees engaged in a given branch of activity and more than half of the employees employed in the workplace, or each of the workplaces. Trade unions, having power to be represented in a workplace, has the right to conclude collective labour agreements on behalf of employees.
2. Rights and Importance of Trade Unions
Only if the parties are not agreed on the terms of a collective labour agreement, in order to preserve employee’s economic and social conditions and working conditions, employees’ right to legal strike is born. Unless these conditions are fulfilled, a strike becomes illegal under TUCLAC.
