Abu Dhabi has restricted residents (UAE nationals and foreign nationals) from travelling in and out of the Emirate to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The restrictions were first introduced on 2 June 2020 and have currently been extended until 23 June 2020. Exemptions are available by special permit for employees in vital sectors, patients with chronic diseases who have to visit hospitals, and the transportation of necessary goods. Movement within each region is permitted in line with the National Sterilisation Programme hours.
