The Guangzhou government recently published certain measures for public opinion, which contains relevant rules for participating in work-related injury insurance for construction projects and work-related injury payment matters. These measures were also issued in Shanghai last month. In addition, the issuance of construction permits will depend on the insurance premium payment certificate of certain construction projects. We can expect that more provinces and municipalities will institute measures to expressly include construction workers, especially migrant workers, in work-related injury insurance so that their employment rights and interests will be better preserved as required by the Opinion on Building Harmonious Employment Relation published earlier this year by the State Council.
