The General Office of Tianjin Municipal Government issued the Interim Measures for the Administration of Foreigners Working in Tianjin (the “Measures”), which specifies employment conditions and employment procedures for foreigners. They expressly state that foreigners working in Tianjin must execute employment contracts with employers and participate in the social insurance system. In addition, the relevant authorities have a number of different mechanisms to address employer non-compliance. The Measures will enable the Tianjin government to enhance the administration of the employment of foreign employees and better protect their rights.
