I’ve been in Brussels for a few months now and my stay here is about to end, though it has been a priceless opportunity. The experience I have gained will certainly follow me wherever I go.
With L&E Global, I had the opportunity to work on numerous international files across several jurisdictions, namely: Denmark, Norway, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Hungary and many more, which has provided me with meaningful insight on a variety of employment law issues in the international community. When reviewing these files, I had to be careful to take into account the laws of the different countries without making any mistakes. However, my colleagues were always very attentive and willing to assist me. I also had the chance to visit the Brussels Court and learned about procedural Belgian law, which was very interesting when comparing it to the procedures we follow in Spain. Surprisingly, they are indeed quite different.
On a personal note, this experience has been truly enlightening. I have met many interesting people and great professionals with whom I’m sure I will keep in touch with once I return to Spain. In addition, I have had the chance to learn about Belgian customs -as you always do when visiting abroad- and I gained a better understanding of the way the Belgian people work and live, which is always interesting and enriching. I am confident that I have reached all of my goals and as such, I will leave Brussels with a great appreciation for my time here as well as my colleagues.
I would like to once again express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Suárez (Partner at Bufete Suárez de Vivero), Mr. Swinkels (Executive Director of L&E Global), Mr. Van Olmen (Partner of Van Olmen & Wynant and Chairman of L&E Global) and Mr. Wynant (Partner at Van Olmen & Wynant) for providing me with this unique opportunity.
